FAQ

Your Questions Answered!

Do you allow pets?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the flats.

Are there weekly cleaning services?

Cleaning services are not provided in the apartment or the rooms, which means that you and your flat mates should organize the cleaning of the common areas of the flat (bathrooms, kitchen, living room and corridor). This can be done by doing weekly planners, verbal agreements… Furthermore, you are responsible for the cleaning of your own room.

We recommend you to focus particularly on:

  • Remove any kind of food waste that might fall in the sink (to avoid drain blockage).
  • Avoid having piles of dishes in the kitchen sink and leaving dirty dishes in the house.
  • Avoid having piles of rubbish at any part of the flat.
  • Remove hair from the bathroom (shower, bath and toilet) to avoid drain blockages.
  • Not throwing sanitary towels, tampons or food waste in the WC to avoid drain blockage.
  • Avoid storing objects in the balconies.
  • Remember that any reparation costs related to drain blockage as consequence of a proven bad usage of the WCs, sinks, baths or showers will be assumed by the tenants of the flat.

Please, notice that visits to the flat can be done to check if it is in healthy conditions of habitability and that fines might apply if you fail to keep this minimum standard (50€/tenant plus the cost of the cleaning service).

Is there a washing and drying machine?

There is a washing machine in every flat. Clothes can be dried in your room, with the washing line. IMPORTANT: Due to the city’s regulation, you can’t leave clothes drying on the balconies facing the street.

Do you provide WiFi?

All flats have access to WIFI. We will provide you with the username and password upon arrival.

Am I allowed to have visitors?

Any overnight visit in your flat should be notified and have the written consent of the property (Rent Room Barcelona). You should follow all the conditions stated in the written consent of the property in order to be able to have any person staying with you in your room.

Moreover, it is essential that you seek your flat mate's approval first, before asking for the written consent of the property.

May I request maintenance at any time during my stay?

If you see that there is any maintenance problem in your room or in any common area of your flat, please email us at contact@rentroombarcelona.com as soon as possible, attaching pictures or videos that shows the problem.

Is there anything I need to bring?

Bring chargers and plug adapters if your electronic devices have plugs other than those in Spain. We recommend buying school supplies, toiletries, and most of your clothing in Barcelona to free up space in your suitcase!

What should I expect upon arrival?

If your arrival is from Monday to Friday during our office hours, a person of our team will meet you at the pre-arranged time in front of the building of your room. When you meet the person of our team, either the day of your arrival or the first working day, you will double-check the room together and fill in the inventory form (making sure everything is as it’s supposed to be to avoid any future problems), sign the contract and receive the keys.

Please, notice you have 3 days after the day of your arrival to notify any damage or failure in your room, furniture or any shared part of the flat.
